Why it matters for carpet tile buyers
A lower-looking number without the same declared unit, life-cycle modules, product function and PCR context is not a decision. For specifiers, the useful output is a controlled evidence sheet rather than a ranking of marketing claims.
What to check
Capture the EPD owner, product scope, PCR name/version, declared or functional unit, life-cycle modules, verification status, validity date and geography. Keep these fields beside the project specification rather than quoting one impact indicator alone.
A project example
If two carpet tile EPDs cite different PCR editions, place their declared units, life-cycle modules and product scopes side by side. Ask the programme operator how the editions affect comparability before copying impact values into a tender table.
